Leadership and Management in the Cooperative

Event Details

A group of fourteen dynamic delegates representing five cooperatives from across the Philippines—were sent to Dundee, Scotland, as the first cohort of the Leadership and Management in the Cooperative Program at the prestigious University of Dundee, Scotland. This achievement marked not just a personal triumph for the participants but also a pivotal step forward in strengthening leadership within the Philippine cooperative movement.

The completion of this initial module is more than an academic success; it signifies a transformative journey for these cooperative leaders. Through intensive coursework and immersive learning experiences, they gained advanced insights into cooperative governance, strategic leadership, and global business practices. These lessons are set to inspire and guide innovative strategies in their respective cooperatives, fostering sustainable growth and reinforcing cooperative principles at home.

By advancing through this program, the delegates are now one step closer to earning their Global MBA, a qualification that will further empower them to lead their organizations with a global perspective while staying rooted in the cooperative ethos. Their efforts exemplify the spirit of resilience and collaboration that define the cooperative movement, as they not only aspire to personal excellence but also commit to driving positive change within their communities.

The Co-operative College of the Philippines, in partnership with the University of Dundee, is proud to champion programs like this that equip leaders with the knowledge and skills to navigate the complexities of today’s cooperative landscape. This achievement underscores the dedication and potential of Filipino cooperative leaders to make a lasting impact locally and globally. As these trailblazers bring home their learnings, they pave the way for a brighter and more innovative future for cooperatives in the Philippines.
