The recent Economic Outlook for 2024 session brought together 36 participants representing 14 co-operatives from across the Philippines. Organized by Co-op College, the session featured notable speakers, including Mr. Aleem Siddiqui Guiapal, Project Manager of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Philippines-Halal, and Mr. John Borga of First Metro Securities. These speakers provided insights into key economic indicators that are expected to shape the country’s financial landscape in the coming year.

The event’s agenda aimed to equip co-operative leaders with a deeper understanding of the potential challenges and opportunities in 2024. This included discussions on the global and local economic outlook, inflation trends, interest rates, and emerging sectors that could impact co-op operations. The session also emphasized the importance of strategic financial planning, encouraging co-op leaders to align their financial goals with the projected economic environment.

This initiative was organized in partnership with the National Federation of Cooperative Primaries in the Philippines (Nafecoop) and Climbs Investment Management & Advisory Corp., with support from Coop Chamber PH.
