Sustainability for Planet and People
The Co-operative College of the Philippines held an Educational Forum. It was hosted as part of their 51st General Assembly of CLIMBS Life and General Insurance Cooperative with the theme “Sustainability for Planet and People” on April 26, 2023, at the Atrium, Limketkai Center. The educational Forum was presided by Ms. Icee Iñosa, the Program Manager- Co-op College PH/Concurrently OIC-Manager for the National Federation of Cooperative Primaries in the Philippines – Nafecoop. It was moderated by Ms. Donna Dizon, CHRP, CEO & Principal for the Co-op College PH and VP Admin & Corp. Planning for CLIMBS. This session was graced by esteemed speakers: Mr. James Elwyn D Leyte, Sc, Senior Research Associate of Agriculture Systems Alliance of Bioversity International and CIAT (International Center for Tropical Agriculture) Prof. Luis F. Dumlao, Ph.D, Dean of Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) & John Gokongwei School of Management Prof. Dynah Basuil, PhD Executive Director of Asian Institute of Management’s Ramon del Rosario Center for Corporate Responsibility Engr. Arianne Sioson-Weather Specialist I, Mindanao Regional Services Division of Philippine Atmosphere, Geophysical & Astronomical Service Administration (PAGASA) Mr. Mangalath Kurup Balanchandran Head of Growth – IBISA NETWORK and, Mr. Noel D. Raboy, MBAEx, President and CEO, CLIMBS Life and General Insurance Cooperative and Founding Trustee, Co-op College PH. The educational forum sparked many ideas and provided delegates with numerous learning opportunities. It was a diverse conversation about the planet and people, and it was successful which all led to the same conclusion that we can strengthen local economies and address social and community needs more effectively by working together. The world is facing a climate emergency that is outpacing our response efforts. Let the change start within us because our planet’s alarm is going off, and it is time to wake up and take action!
