Board and Management: Working Together Cooperatively

The Co-operative College of the Philippines successfully conducted a transformative Board and Management training, designed to empower cooperative leaders with the skills and insights needed to navigate the complexities of cooperative governance. With a focus on strategic leadership, effective collaboration, and sustainability, the program aimed to strengthen the foundation of cooperative organizations and ensure their growth aligns with cooperative principles and values.

Facilitated by Mr. Antonio Molina and Mr. Jowell Tan of Revv Consultancy, renowned for their expertise in board and management practices, the training offered participants an in-depth exploration of the unique challenges and opportunities in cooperative leadership. Participants were guided through engaging discussions and practical exercises that honed their strategic thinking and decision-making abilities, enabling them to address organizational challenges with confidence and foresight.

The training also emphasized the importance of fostering collaboration and effective communication within leadership teams. Participants gained tools and frameworks to enhance teamwork, ensuring that cooperative boards and management teams function as cohesive units with shared goals. Additionally, the program provided practical strategies for proactive risk management and adaptive leadership, equipping leaders to respond effectively to uncertainties and drive resilience within their organizations.

At its core, the training cultivated a vision for sustainable growth, reinforcing the cooperative identity by grounding leadership strategies in the principles of equity, democracy, and solidarity. By the end of the program, participants emerged with a deeper understanding of their roles as stewards of cooperative values and as catalysts for innovation and progress in their respective communities.
